In a kitchen, a galaxy far...far away the smell of food and the laughter of family began my extremely long journey into what would become Passionately Pasta. The holiday dinners bringing everyone together and seeing the joy food brought made me determined to make it happen for others... the main food I would always snag was grandmas mac and cheese... God was it heaven ( I believe my love for pasta may have been even earlier since my mother craved Italian beyond belief when she was pregnant with me) but regardless of where it officially began ... I had caught the "bug" for pasta before I even knew it.
After I chose to go into the culinary field I fell in love with cooking in general , I still had no idea where my journey would bring me I only knew it had to be something with food. For 11 years I grinded through kitchen positions, put up with the long hours, the adrenaline and aggressiveness of the kitchen life. No matter how much I invested in it I always felt some big part of me was missing...until a good friend and chef taught me how to make tortellini, it was amazing to find peace in a place with such chaos, where time stood still and life seemed to make sense. Pasta began my journey into a massive life change that would continuously heal any pain that would come my way, heartache=pasta, stress=pasta, angry= you guessed it pasta would sooth that as well. It just clicked like Mozart and music or Shakespeare and poetry.... a perfect marriage
My love continued to grow, teaching myself shapes, making fillings, different colored doughs... I found my purpose. Unfortunately I didn't have a grandmother to teach me pasta ( she passed away way before this life came into fruition) so I had to take this journey on my own, but with each shape I grew more determined to learn more each day. When I would learn a shape, consistency became the next challenge how close each one looked to the next. Through grace and grain we make poetry into pasta...
